Tectara Materials Limited is the Hong Kong–based supplier behind KOVON Architectural Film — a single-brand, specification-first materials business built for architects, designers and fit-out contractors across Asia-Pacific.
Where the name comes from
Texture + Terra
Tectara is built from two ideas. Texture — the surface, the finish, the detail a hand and an eye register before anything else about a room. And Terra, Latin for land — the raw, natural materials that every texture ultimately traces back to: timber grain, stone, mineral, fibre.
Put together, the name is a statement of intent — inspired by natural textures, crafted for architectural surfaces.

Through innovative surface materials, Tectara’s role is to bring that texture back to environments that have lost it — without tearing them apart to do it. That is also, quite literally, where our first product line comes from.

Through premium architectural film, KOVON transforms existing walls, doors, furniture and joinery into refined, durable interiors — without demolition, without wet trades, and without the weeks of downtime a full material replacement usually costs a project.
It’s renovation logic applied to a material problem: most surfaces in a building don’t need to be torn out. They need to be re-covered, properly, with something tested, documented, and built to last.
Why we started
A simpler alternative to demolition
Anyone who has run a renovation knows the trade-off: replacing a surface properly usually means demolition, wet trades, weeks of downtime and a lot of waste — for a wall, a door, or a run of joinery that mostly just needed to look new again.
Tectara Materials was built around a narrower, more useful job than “renovation.” We are not a design studio, and we are not an installation contractor. We are a materials supplier — and we’ve chosen to hold ourselves to the standard that a specification-first business demands: source a film collection deep enough for real architectural work, put the claims that matter most — fire performance above all — through independent laboratory testing rather than take a factory’s word for it, document it the way a fire engineer or a specifier actually expects, and get it to site on a schedule you can build a programme around.
What your contractor does with the material after that is between you and them — we supply the material, and we stand behind exactly what we say about it. Where a claim isn’t independently verified yet, we say so, rather than let it sit quietly on a spec sheet. In a category where marketing routinely runs ahead of test data, we think that discipline is the actual product.

Our fire performance is not self-declared. The Performance Grain system is tested and classified by SGS under HOKLAS accreditation, and the classification report goes to your fire engineer on request.

Applied directly to prepared substrates — MDF, plywood, metal, glass and painted surfaces, including gently curved profiles. No wet trades, minimal downtime.

Performance Grain
A fire-classified surface system for commercial interiors.
Performance Grain pairs KOVON’s timber aesthetics with tested fire performance — very low flame spread, the lowest smoke classification, and no flaming droplets. Fire performance is a property of the system: the film applied to substrates classified A1 or A2, self-adhered, without joints.
Tested by SGS under HOKLAS accreditation (Reg. No. 229), Report No. SDFTS26003552R01. Classification does not constitute type approval — confirm project-specific compliance with a qualified fire engineer.
